MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS

During September, the Mixed Foursomes Championships were conducted with Pratik Dhody and Nasya Sohail being crowned the 2019 Champions with Gross scores of 82 and 90 for a 2 round total of 172.  Congratulations Pratik and Nasya, your award will be presented to you at the next Presentation Night.

In the Nett event, with scores of 83.5 and 74.5 for a total of 158, the evergreen Evelyn Tricklebank and Dennis Dorricott scored by one shot from Ibrahim Cekic and Dianne Darch.   Congratulations to Evelyn and Dennis, your award will also be presented to you on Presentation Night.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2019 Club Championships kick off next week so if you haven’t already got your entry form in, you need to do so before Wednesday 9 October.  Please note that no late entries will be accepted after this closing date.

As mentioned in the September newsletter, tee off times will be different this year to previous years.  All Members with pre-paid tee times will stay in those tee positions for the duration of the Club Championships.  The only alteration to this is that for Round 2, players will swap tees (ie if you hit off from the 1st tee in Round one, you will move to the 10th tee for Round two and vice versa if you hit off the 10th tee in Round one you will move to the 1st tee for Round two).  For Round three, players will move back to their tee positions from Round one.  For anyone who doesn’t have a paid tee time, you will be allocated a Vacant tee time as close to your preference as possible.

At the time of producing this newsletter, Timesheets are still being worked on for the Championships and will be opened for viewing only closer to the first round.  Any changes to allocated tee times must be approved and changed by either the Captain or Pro Shop staff.

The first 3 Rounds of competition will be Stroke, with the 12 best Gross scores in each Grade qualifying for the Final Round on Sunday 27 October.  The best Gross score over the 4 Rounds will be deemed the Club Champion for 2019 with the best Gross score over the 4 Rounds in the other 2 Grades being deemed the 2019 Champion for that Grade.

The Match Committee will endeavor to put progressive scores on the Notice Board in the Members Lounge after each Round, however all scores will be available for viewing on the Leaderboard system on the Golf Clubs Website at the completion of each Round.

All Eligibility and Conditions of Play are documented on the entry form, so please check all these details before entering, and remember after your Round to sign your scorecard before handing it in.  Both the Player and Marker area must be signed.  Failure to do so will mean the Player will be disqualified (Rule 6-6 (b) applies).

Good luck to everyone.

PRIZE MONEY ON ACCOUNT

Some of you would have noticed on your Golf Club Account that prize money won over the past couple of weeks does not appear to have been credited to your account.  There appears to be a “glitch” in the MiClub system that shows the money won being allocated, but not Credited to your account.  The Pro Shop system however shows the money has been allocated and your correct balance, so if you are unsure of how much you have on your account, please contact the Pro Shop who will be able to give you a correct balance.

Measures are being taken to correct the problem.

COURSE NEWS

Winter has ended and it has yielded us 152mm of rain and around 40 megalitres of water which was much needed, (fingers crossed it continues).

With the warmer weather we are seeing our couch surfaces coming out of dormancy, colour is improving by the day and we were even able to give the fairways there first mow since March.

Ornamental grasses have been planted with more to be done around the 10 tee, this will improve the aesthetics around the tee box area and reduce the weed population when grown in.  If golfers could please take care around the tee box area and avoid entering the garden bed it will be much appreciated.
