Course and Carts Update

Tueday 6th September 2022

Following a Match Meeting last night, the Match Committee have agreed to re-open the course as of Tuesday 6 September. Preferred Lies (one hand span) on Fairways and closely mown surrounds will continue to apply as well as Preferred Lies (one Club Length) in Bunkers.

The Match Committee has also agreed to allow golf carts onto the course, but with strict rules. These rules are that carts must be kept to cart paths and the sides of the rough. No golf cart is to be driven onto any fairway until further advise. Any person found to breach this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately.

As reported in earlier emails, the problem our course is having at the moment is that the water plain is very high and when we get rain it has nowhere to go other than stay on the fairways and with very little grass growth at the moment, the fairways turn into mud and make the course unplayable.

Hopefully, the warm weather is just around the corner, and we can avoid any further closures, but be assured, the Match Committee, Board, and course staff are doing their best to get our course open and in a playable condition where everyone can enjoy their round of golf.
