1. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

As reported in earlier updates, the Club Championships have been postponed until February 2023.  The important dates for you to remember are:

  • Entries open Saturday 10 December 2022 (both Men and Ladies) - Entry Forms available in Pro Shop
  • Entries close Wednesday 1 February 2023 (Men) and Tuesday 31 January (Ladies) - No late entries will be accepted.
  • Round 1 Men Saturday 4 February 2023
  • Round 1 Ladies Wednesday 1 February 2023 or Saturday 4 February 2023

2. COURSE UPDATE

The course has come back extremely well given all the rain we have had recently, however with more rain expected into the weekend and next week, the Match Committee made a decision to leave Preferred Lies in place until at least next week.  This is not the preferred option, but given the expected rainfall, we did not consider it practical to remove Preferred Lies and then re-install them after some heavy rain a few days later, so please be patient with us in regard to this Rule.

It was also decided that ALL Bunkers would remain GUR until at least the end of next week, which gives the Ground staff some extra time to bring them up to a playable standard following the damage caused by the rain.  There will be some Bunkers that remain GUR, however the plan is bring most back into play with Preferred Lies until further notice.

Please keep an eye on the top of the Timesheet for updates to these Local Rules.

 3. NEW HOLE INDEX

As reported in previous Newsletters, a new Men's Hole Index will commence on 1 November.  Please check your card or MiScore App to see if any of these changes have affected where you receive shots on a Hole.

4. GREEN CORING

Our Greens will be cored on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th November.  The course will be closed on both these days.

5. CLOSING DAY / XMAS BREAK UP DAY

The Match Committee has decided that we will go back to some of the novelty activities that we had previously conducted on our Xmas Break Up Day (Saturday 10 December).  This will include but not be limited to putting pins in tricky positions and maybe even having tees in unusual positions.

This day will be a shot gun start with some complimentary food after your round in the Members Lounge.

You can dress up in your best Xmas attire if you wish, or you can bring a friend, relative, or partner to just walk around with you.  The Match Committee would like this to be a fun day

6. NO SHOWS

With the warmer weather fast approaching, it is more important than ever, to ensure your name is removed from the timesheet if you are unable to play.  The Match Committee understands that sometimes unforeseen situations can occur that might make it difficult to withdraw your name, but that should be a rarity and should not be a regular occurrence.

Members who regularly breach this Rule, run the risk of being suspended from the timesheet should they be a regular offender, so please ensure you name is removed when you ae not playing.

7. NORKER SHIELD

After a couple of years in the wilderness due to COVID, the Norker Shield (Doubles Match Play) returns to our Syllabus.  This is a Teams event consisting of 2 players playing Match Play against another 2 players.  If you are interested in being part of this event, the below information will be useful:
