Please note that these members have joined across various membership categories which is great to see.

BOARD UPDATE

⛳ How good is it being back out on the course & at the driving range! We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all members, guests, green-fee players and also our staff over the lockdown period and since we've re-opened at Mt Derrimut Golf & Community Club. All in all, you all have adhered to restrictions and the rules we currently have in place which is great to see.

A special mention to Geoff Ross (and Proshop team) and Brian Hardie who have done some amazing work along with Simon Cochrane (and Grounds staff team) during the lockdown period. This has come to fruition with the condition of our course and on the playability since we've re-opened.
Along with this update, there is a special someone we need to thank for their tenure at our precinct. Jake Sayer, who many of you know practically lived at the Proshop/Golf Course! Jake has been renowned for not only being a 3 time Club Champion but also for his time managing the Proshop along with Geoff Ross (Head Professional) for several years. In August, Jake resigned and has taken up work elsewhere with his family and so therefore, no longer works at the Proshop.

On behalf of our entire golf & community club Jake, we thank you.

PS: You'll continue to see Jake around at the club. Not only trying to defend his 2020 Club Champion title but also at Pennant and most definetly, at the first tee-time ~nearly every day midweek. 😊

CAPTAIN UPDATE

Past Results

Due to lockdown restrictions, no competitions have been played since August 2021.

General Updates

⚠️ Some of you may have already received a "nasty" email from me but yes, No Show Policy is in full force and each week, we will be communicating to any member who has failed to fulfill their booking. With the demand on golf and currently, being limited to groups of 2, adherence to your tee-time is a must. Please note that you MUST visit the Proshop before you play or else the Proshop will mark you as "No Show".
You might be thinking, so what if I no show? - Well, please take this email as a clear warning that if you appear on the No Show list twice or more in 90 days, your membership will be suspended for 7 days. If you continually appear on the list then your membership will further get extended but by 14 days and so on and consequently, we will then be in touch with you to discuss your membership at the club. This strict enforcement is in the best interest of all players who are looking to get a game. Please do right by every patron and the club and remove yourself from the teesheet prior to your booking if you elect to withdraw from your booking.
⚠️ Please continue to repair divots on tees and fairways and also repairing your pitch marks on greens (even the ones that are not yours!). Our course is in amazing condition at the moment and by doing so, you are doing your little bit to keep it that way.
⚠️ What's happening with Club Championships?
As many of you know, October is our highlight month of the year where we host our Club Championships generally. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the dates are not yet locked in. At this point in writing to you all, the current thought is as follows:
a) We must be allowed to play in groups of 4 and competitions must be allowed by Golf Australia.
b) According to our understanding, this is likely to be when we hit 80% vaccination rates which as of right now according to the government is predicted to be Friday 5th November. As you all would know by now, this is a "watch and see" situation and as soon as we know more, we will officially confirm when this tournament can take place. IF we are allowed to commence competitions/4 ball from 5th November then our club championship dates will be:
Round 1: Saturday 13th November 2021
Round 2: Saturday 20th November 2021
Round 3: Saturday 27th November 2021
Final Round (Top 10s only): Sunday 28th November 2021.
Please note that the above dates are indicative at this stage and may very likely change depending on when restrictions ease.

With Jake leaving the Proshop, we have been in fast recruit for a Manager who Geoff has found in Pete Evans. Pete has been a member of Mt Derrimut Golf & Community Club for the past 3 years and is extremely passionate about all things golf. Pete’s recent experience in golf has been assisting Geoff run trips interstate and in regional Victoria. Pete started playing golf 7 years ago and has quickly dedicated a lot of his time to the sport. Pete has been pivotal in the growth & expansion at Future Golf and spent 3 years running events, handling memberships and assisting members.
We welcome Pete to the role and we know the members are going to love having him around! ❤️

✔️ The Driving Range as many of you know has re-opened with the Kiosk remaining closed until further notice (due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions). During this period, the mini golf course remains closed also.

On behalf of our entire golf & community club Louise, we thank you.
